When Windows 10 Professional shutdowns while on Battery Mode and with Turn on fast startup unchecked, Windows 10 encounters a BSOD with Stop Code DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION.
Fast Startup Disabled
First, T495 came with Fast Startup turned on. However, I wouldn’t say I liked using it, so I disabled the Fast Startup. I wanted all running applications to shut down when Windows 10 restarts or shutdowns.
Blue Screen on Battery Mode During Shutdown
It took me some time to determine the condition that caused this error.
It takes about 5 minutes to complete the collection of error info before the laptop restarts.
How to Fix – Interim
I just turned the Fast Startup back on! With this, I no longer get the DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION error when I shut down my laptop while in battery mode.
